The Football Association have today published further details for the 2023 Arnold Clark Cup.
England will defend the trophy in 2023 after winning the inaugural competition earlier this year. The tournament will initially be played over a four-year period, although that deal could be extended.
FAWSL Full-Time have received a press release from the tournament organisers which has officially confirmed that Belgium, Italy and South Korea will compete with England for the 2023 Arnold Clark Cup. Stadium MK (Milton Keynes) and Ashton Gate (Bristol) will host two rounds of games while one further venue will be announced in due course.
Next year’s tournament will be an important part of England’s preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.
Following today’s announcement, England head coach Sarina Wiegman said “Winning the 2022 Arnold Clark Cup was a big achievement and gave us momentum and confidence heading into the EUROs.
“It’s great to have the opportunity to defend this title in front of our fans. Everything we now do is about being ready for the World Cup. Facing three different good opposition, each with a different style of play and playing three matches in 10 days is the perfect preparation for the challenges that await us this summer. We hope these games excite the fans and they continue to give us such amazing support.”
Tickets for the Milton Keynes and Bristol games are on sale now at www.arnoldclarkcup.com. Games will again be played out in a double-header format with tickets starting at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
