Arsenal’s latest signing Kathrine Kühl says that she is excited to sample the high tempo of the Barclays Women’s Super League.
The Gunners completed the signing of the Danish international midfielder from FC Nordsjælland earlier today. Kühl has become Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall’s second signing of the January transfer window.
When speaking to Arsenal’s official media team, Kühl said that she wanted to come to England to play high tempo club football off the back of her positive experiences with the Danish national team.
“I feel like I’ve played in the Danish league for some time now and I’ve also played some national team games which is cool,” the midfielder said.
“I learn a lot from the national team games because it is such a high tempo and I feel like I also need that day-to-day, that’s why I was considering a move to the English Women’s Super League because it is such a high tempo. I’m really looking forward to being a part of that.”
Kühl has got her fair share of goals in recent years but she says that her aim is to be the provider for the forward players.
She said “I am a creative midfielder, I like to be on the ball and play nice through passes, the golden balls to the strikers. I like to turn in the small pockets too. Those are my strengths.”
Arsenal is a dream destination for so many top international players and Kühl is experiencing the same emotions after signing on in North London.
“It feels like another dream come true,” Kühl said. “When a dream comes true, I’m setting new goals for myself so I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me, I’m really looking forward to it.”
Kühl joins Dutch international midfielder Victoria Pelova in signing for Arsenal in the current transfer window.
