PREVIEW: Arsenal v Chelsea

One of the biggest games of the season so far in the Barclays Women’s Super League takes place this weekend with Arsenal welcoming title rivals Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners currently occupy second place in the league table. Jonas Eidevall’s side are three points behind league leaders Chelsea but the North Londoners do have the benefit of a game-in-hand.

Arsenal head coach Eidevall has added Sabrina D’Angelo, Kathrine Kühl and Victoria Pelova to his squad so far in the January transfer window and those players could be involved in the matchday squad this weekend. The Gunners are without Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema who are out for the season with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. Youngster Teyah Goldie continues to rebuild her fitness following long-term injury.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has no new injury concerns to contend with following a recent warm weather training camp. The Blues continue to be without the services of Danish international attacker Pernille Harder who is recovering from surgery on a hamstring injury.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Arsenal and Chelsea kicks-off at 12pm on Sunday afternoon. Around 45,000 tickets have now been sold for the match. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
