Leicester City have completed the signing of Australian international full-back Courtney Nevin on a loan deal until the end of the season.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the transfer via an official club press release from Leicester City this evening.
Nevin joins The Foxes on loan from Swedish top flight club Hammarby IF. The 20-year-old defender has spent the last 10 months with the Damallsvenskan outfit. Nevin has also previously played for Australian clubs Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory.
On the international stage, Nevin made her senior debut for The CommBank Matildas in June 2021. The defender has become a regular in the Australian squad and she already has 18 caps to her name.
After completing her loan switch to Leicester City, Nevin said “It feels really good to be here. Leicester City have so much potential, and I’m excited to get stuck in and work hard for this team.
“The Swedish league is very similar to the WSL. It’s very physical, very technical, and hopefully I can bring those attributes to the team and help get some more points on the table.”
Nevin could go into the Leicester City squad for their Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Reading on Sunday.
