Chelsea will be hoping to kick on in the FA Women’s Super League when they take on struggling Birmingham City at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.
The Blues saw their tricky fixture at Manchester United called off just five hours before kick-off on Sunday while Wednesday’s opponents Birmingham City were also unable to play due to Storm Ciara.
Chelsea go into the match on the back of a sequence of seven consecutive victories in all competitions dating back to December. The Blues have netted 29 goals during that sequence, including eight without reply against West Ham United in their last fixture in the FA Women’s Super League.
Birmingham City make the trip south to Kingsmeadow with very different form. Marta Tejedor’s side did impressively see off FA Women’s Championship club Sheffield United 3-0 in the Women’s FA Cup fourth round in their last match, however, they are on a three-match losing streak in the FA Women’s Super League in which they have failed to score a goal.
The two sides met in the reverse fixture at the SportNation.bet Stadium in November. On that occasion, Chelsea were 6-0 winners with both Beth England and Drew Spence helping themselves to braces.
Wednesday’s meeting is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm with admission available for both sets of fans on the night.
