PREVIEW: Chelsea v Brighton & Hove Albion

Chelsea will be hoping to pick themselves up from their FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup final defeat when they take on managerless Brighton & Hove Albion at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The Blues were defeated 3-1 by London rivals Arsenal in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup final at Selhurst Park on Sunday. It was one of the poorest Chelsea performances for some time. Latest opponents Brighton & Hove Albion have also had their troubles, head coach Jens Scheuer left his position by mutual consent on Monday after just two months in the job.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes is expected to have no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of her side’s latest match. Pernille Harder and Kateřina Svitková continue to be sidelined with their respective injuries while Fran Kirby is no nearer to a return.

Brighton & Hove Albion go into their latest match under the interim management of Amy Merricks. The Seagulls remain without the services of long-term absentee Dejana Stefanović while youngster Maisie Symonds is also out. The fitness of defender Victoria Williams is not known.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion kicks-off at 7.30pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
