Arsenal’s latest new recruit Jodie Taylor says that she wants to help the club to win titles during her short stay in North London.
The 36-year-old forward completed her transfer to The Gunners earlier today. The arrangement will keep Taylor at the LV Bet Stadium until the end of the season. Taylor is set to begin her second spell as an Arsenal player after previously turning out for the club between 2016 and 2017.
When speaking to Arsenal’s official media team, Taylor said that her main aim is to help The Gunners to win titles.
“In my three months with the club, I want to help Arsenal to push for titles like the Champions League title,” Taylor said. “I want to help us be as successful as we possibly can be in these crucial months that are left in the season.
“It’s a great opportunity to come back to a club that I love so much. Coming in as a free agent for a few months, I just want to help the team.
“I’m fit, healthy and I can still play. It is not over until it is over, I’m still capable of playing at this level. To get this opportunity has been incredible and I can’t wait to get started.”
Taylor’s Arsenal return has come out of the blue and the player went on to say that she kept the move quiet.
She added “As you become more experienced in the game, you know that things can get out quickly, so I’ve been quite tight-lipped with this. The nature of how it came about was pretty quick which has helped as well.
“I’ve definitely kept it quiet with only a small circle of people knowing. It has been nice to keep it quiet.”
Taylor has been handed the number 27 shirt by Arsenal.
