Arsenal announce plans to increase WSL games at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have announced their intention to stage at least five Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures at the Emirates Stadium next season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.

The move will see Arsenal play more league matches at their spiritual home than ever before in 2023/2024. The Gunners have staged three Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures at the Emirates Stadium this season and the increase in games at the venue in 2023/2024 shows the continued support of the club for their women’s team.

In addition to the increased number of Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal are again expected to play any UEFA Women’s Champions League matches in N5 from the group stage onwards.

Following this morning’s announcement, Arsenal’s CEO, Vinai Venkatesham said “We’re delighted to confirm that our women’s first team will play five WSL games at Emirates Stadium next season.

“We’ve received fantastic support at Emirates Stadium this year, setting a new record attendance in the WSL and achieving a memorable sell-out for our recent UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final against Wolfsburg earlier this month.

“It’s wonderful to see the support for the team at Emirates Stadium, Meadow Park and on the road week in, week out.  This latest announcement ensures that as many supporters as possible can enjoy the matchday experience with us, as we continue to support the sustainable growth of women’s football.”

Arsenal’s record attendance at the Emirates Stadium is 60,063. The club will be hoping to record many more huge attendances in North London again next season.
