Everton loanee Jess Park has returned to her parent club Manchester City ahead of schedule after picking up a shoulder injury.
The Blue Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
It has been reported that Park sustained the injury on the Everton training ground. The player was a notable absentee from the side which lost 7-0 at Chelsea on Sunday.
The England international’s injury has now been assessed by the Everton medical team and it has been confirmed that Park will not play again before the end of the campaign. The decision has therefore been made to end the loan arrangement ahead of schedule and allow Park to return to parent club Manchester City to continue her rehabilitation.
Park made 22 appearances for Everton in all competitions in which she scored five goals. One of the forward’s most memorable moments in an Everton shirt came in the first Merseyside derby of the season at Anfield. The player was on target as The Blue Girls defeated Liverpool 3-0 back in September.
It is unknown whether Park’s injury will affect her hopes of being selected to represent England at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023, however, there has been no indication that she will be sidelined for a significant period.
