Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Finnish international midfielder Olga Ahtinen on a two-year deal.
The Lilywhites announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Ahtinen joins Spurs from Swedish club Linköpings FC. The 26-year-old has spent the last three years at LFC. Ahtinen has also previously played her football in her native Finland and Denmark.
On the international stage, Ahtinen has been capped by Finland on 55 occasions while she has scored four goals.
After completing her move to Spurs, Ahtinen said “I’ve known that I wanted to make this move for a long time, and I give a lot to football, so I’m really happy to be here.
“It feels a little bit surreal but I’m really, really happy to be here and excited. The English league has really shown that it’s a high-level league. I think the journey that the team is going to have is a journey I want to be in.”
Ahtinen becomes new Spurs head coach Robert Vilahamn’s third signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of Luana Bühler and Grace Clinton. Vilahamn is expected to make more new additions before the new season kicks-off in October.
