Arsenal defender Teyah Goldie has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury for the second time in her short professional playing career.
The Gunners announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
It has been reported that Goldie sustained the injury while she was away from the club earlier this summer. The player has already gone under the surgeon’s knife to address the problem and she has started her rehabilitation.
At this stage, it is unknown when Goldie might return to fitness but she has not been ruled out for the entire 2023/2024 season.
Goldie sustained her first Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury during the second half of the 2021/2022 season. She was enjoying a dual-registration spell with Barclays Women’s Championship club Watford but made just four appearances before being dealt her cruel injury blow. Goldie spent more than a year on the sidelines in recovery before making her comeback for Arsenal at the end of last season.
The youngster must now pick herself up for the long road to recovery again with a view to rebuilding her fitness for mid-2024. The player will have the full support of the Arsenal medical team throughout her period of rehabilitation.
