London City Lionesses sign former Arsenal and England forward Carter

London City Lionesses have completed the impressive signing of former Arsenal and England international forward Danielle Carter on a two-year deal.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.

Carter joins London City Lionesses after spending the last two seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion. The forward is known most for her 11-year spell with Arsenal. Carter netted 60 goals in 184 appearances for The Gunners in all competitions while she won 12  domestic trophies with the club.

On the international stage, Carter has four senior caps to her name for England in which she netted six goals.

Carter’s new club London City Lionesses were in need of attacking reinforcements after losing some key players over the summer and they have now netted themselves a prolific goalscorer in Carter.

After completing her move to Princes Park, Carter said “I had conversations with Nicola [Williams] and Carolina [Morace] and the vision they set out for the Club was very exciting.

“Promotion is obviously the main aim this season, that’s the dream that we are all collectively working towards. We need to get points on the board very quickly and build from there. It’s an exciting prospect.”

Carter becomes London City Lionesses’ 11th signing of the summer transfer window.
