Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eveliina Summanen has signed a new long-term contract with the club until summer 2026.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the North Londoners this afternoon.
Summanen joined Spurs from Swedish club Kristianstads DFF in the January 2022 transfer window. The Lilywhites paid an undisclosed fee to secure her services.
The 25-year-old Finnish international midfielder has grown into her role in the Spurs side and she has been one of the team’s top performers this season. She has impressed in the middle of the park but also when on the attack. Summanen has made 36 appearances for Spurs in the Barclays Women’s Super League so far while she has scored four goals.
New Spurs head coach Robert Vilahamn is implementing an exciting style of attacking football this season. Summanen is one of a number of players to be benefiting from Vilahamn’s footballing philosophy and she will be hoping to continue to grow under his guidance.
Spurs have taken 11 points from their first six matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season. There is much more to come from the North Londoners in the coming months and the club’s future looks very bright.
