West Ham United’s Atkinson joins Crystal Palace on permanent deal

West Ham United’s Izzy Atkinson has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.

The Eagles announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this evening.

Atkinson has spent the last 18 months with West Ham United after joining the club from Glasgow giants Celtic in summer 2022. The left-sided player has made 22 appearances for The Hammers in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she has scored one goal. Atkinson has largely been used as a substitute during her time in East London and she will now be hoping for more minutes at new club Crystal Palace.

After joining the South Londoners, Atkinson said “I’m really excited to get started at Crystal Palace, meet all the girls and get cracking. I just really want to come here, help out the team, and hopefully win loads of games.

“I’ve heard only good things about the club, so I’m really excited to get used to the style of play here.”

Atkinson becomes Crystal Palace head coach Laura Kaminski’s second signing of the January transfer window. The youngster will be hoping to help The Eagles sustain their push for promotion in the Barclays Women’s Championship in the second half of the season.
