Gotham FC sign Chelsea ace Reiten

Gotham FC have announced the signing of Chelsea winger Guro Reiten on a loan arrangement which will convert into a permanent deal.

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 31-year-old Norwegian international will spend the remainder of the English football season on loan with Gotham FC before joining the club on a free transfer on 1 July 2026.

Reiten has spent almost seven years with Chelsea after joining the club from Norwegian side LSK Kvinner in summer 2019. She has made 207 appearances for The Blues in all competitions, scoring 59 goals. Reiten has won 13 domestic trophies in her time as a Chelsea player and she is very much a club legend.

After sealing her move to Gotham FC, Reiten said “I’m really excited to join Gotham FC and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this club. Gotham has built something special over the past few years, and there’s clear ambition here. I’m looking forward to working hard, learning and doing everything I can to help the team succeed.”

Reiten will be available for selection for her new club once the necessary international clearance has been received.
