Relegated Portsmouth announce 13-player exit list

Portsmouth have announced the news that 13 first team players will be leaving the club when their contracts expire at the end of the month.

Pompey announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

It has been revealed that Jazz Younger, Emma Jones, Meg Hornby, Jess Gray, Sophie Barker, Jesse Woolley, Ella Rutherford, Tia Young, Stevie Kennedy, Chloe Sheffield, Tia Primmer, Emily Pitman and Hannah Coan are all moving on this summer.

Defender Younger is the highest-profile departure with the player having spent the last eight years with Portsmouth. She was a FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division winner with the club in 2023/2024. Forwards Jones and Pitman are two other survivors from that title-winning campaign.

Hornby, Gray, Barker, Woolley, Rutherford, Primmer and Coan all joined Portsmouth during the club’s two-year stint in Barclays WSL2.

Youngsters Young, Kennedy and Sheffield have all come through the Portsmouth academy system.

Portsmouth have been relegated from Barclays WSL2 after taking just 14 points from their 22 matches this season. The club are now likely to be playing their football in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division again next season. Portsmouth will continue to operate on a full-time basis as they bid to continue their progression.
