Brøndby IF sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Rodgers

Brøndby IF have completed the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Amy Rodgers on a two-year deal.

The Danish A-Liga club announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 26-year-old Scotland international leaves Nottingham Forest after spending one season at The City Ground. She made 26 appearances for The Tricky Trees in all competitions.

Rodgers is a hugely experienced player. She started out at Liverpool where she made more than 50 appearances before going on to feature for London City Lionesses, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest. The midfielder has been a near-ever present for her clubs over several seasons.

After joining Brøndby IF, Rodgers said “I know how historic a club Brøndby IF is – both in Danish women’s and men’s football. I was looking for a new challenge, and when I spoke to Kim [André Pedersen] and Bengt [Sæternes], it seemed like the perfect match.

“The club has great ambitions to win titles in Denmark, but also to compete in European tournaments. It fits perfectly with my own ambitions and what I want to achieve, so I am really excited to have become part of the club.

“I am looking forward to getting started with the team, meeting the fans and hopefully contributing to the club’s success.”

Rodgers will link-up with her new club next week.
