Wolves sign goalkeeper Doran

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of goalkeeper Cadi Doran.

Wolves announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website earlier today.

The 19-year-old Rhyl-born stopper moves to Wolves following a spell combining playing football with her studies in the United States. Doran has spent a period playing for the University of Washington in the American college system.

In her youth, Doran spent time with Liverpool. She helped The Reds win the Professional Game Academy League championship while she was involved with the first team on a few occasions, although she never made a senior appearance. The keeper built some senior playing experience during a dual-registration spell with FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Liverpool Feds.

On the international stage, Doran has represented Wales at various youth levels up to and including Under-19 level.

After bringing Doran to Wolves, manager Dan McNamara said “Cadi is a young player with heaps of potential and someone who we feel we can really develop to become a top goalkeeper. Despite her age, she has already had exposure to the top level with Liverpool as well as experience of international football.”

Doran is Wolves’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
