Newcastle United have completed the signing of midfielder Mollie Lambert on a free transfer.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this evening.
The 28-year-old joins Newcastle United after leaving former club Durham earlier this summer. Lambert spent six years with The Wildcats in which she made 157 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 23 goals.
Lambert returns to the club where she started her senior playing career. The midfielder turned out for Newcastle United between 2015 and 2016. She was awarded the captain’s armband during her first spell on Tyneside before leaving for Sunderland.
After sealing her Newcastle United return, Lambert said “It’s a huge club, a huge move, and I’m really looking forward to it. The club’s ambitions and goals, working under Tanya [Oxtoby] herself, the answers were all there. It is amazing to be part of it and I can’t wait to be involved in the journey ahead.
“This next move was important for me. I want to win things and look back on my career knowing I’ve done myself proud.”
Lambert is Newcastle United’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
