West Ham United teenager joins Napoli on loan

West Ham United’s teenage forward Jacynta Galabadaarachchi is understood to have joined Italian Serie A Women club Napoli on loan according to reports on The Turtles’ official club website.

The 19-year-old Australian Under-20 international has spent the last 14 months with The Hammers after joining the club following a spell with W-League club Perth Glory.

Galabadaarachchi made 11 appearances in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in her first season in East London, five of which were starts.

Italian club Napoli have today confirmed that the striker has joined them on loan. The player has been undergoing a medical this afternoon but the arrangement looks to be a done deal with Galabadaarachchi having been pictured in a Napoli shirt following her arrival in Italy.

After representing Kingston City in her youth, the forward started her senior career with Melbourne City where she won the W-League championship in 2016/2017. Galabadaarachchi then had time training with several English clubs before returning to Australia where she joined Perth Glory. The player spent the 2018/2019 season with Glory before moving to West Ham United ahead of their second season in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

The full terms of Galabadaarachchi’s loan deal have not been disclosed by Napoli.
