Arsenal fans will be hoping that they do not lose the services of attacking midfielder Kim Little for too long with the player having sustained an injury in the club’s 2-1 Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final defeat at Manchester City last night.
The 30-year-old Scottish international was brought off after 50 minutes of the match at The Academy Stadium after picking up an injury with Lia Walti coming on in her place.
Head coach Joe Montemurro spoke to the Arsenal media team after the match and has hinted that Little may have suffered a slight hamstring pull with the player set to be fully assessed prior to The Gunners’ next match against Bristol City in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League at the weekend.
Little has been an important member of the Arsenal squad so far this season with the midfielder having netted two goals and providing an assist. She is also one of the most experienced players in the team after accruing over eight years of service with The Gunners over two spells with the club.
After taking on Bristol City at Meadow Park on Sunday, Arsenal face a potential group-defining fixture against Chelsea in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup on Wednesday. They then travel to Brighton & Hove Albion before hosting neighbours Spurs in what is a very busy period of fixtures this month. Arsenal head coach Montemurro and the club’s fans will be hoping that midfielder Little’s injury is not all that severe and that she will be able to play a part.
