Chelsea will travel to Manchester City in the quarter-finals of this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup.
The draw was broadcast live on BT Sport 1’s ‘BT Sport Score’ this afternoon with the meeting of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s stellar sides being the pick of the ties.
Chelsea are the current holders of the trophy after defeating London rivals Arsenal 2-1 in last season’s final while Manchester City defeated The Gunners on penalty kicks to lift the trophy in 2019.
Elsewhere, the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s bottom club Bristol City will entertain fellow strugglers Aston Villa while second tier club Durham will make the long trip to West Ham United. There will also be an all-FA Women’s Championship affair as Crystal Palace host current league leaders Leicester City. That tie means that there will be the novelty of a second tier side competing in the semi-finals of the competition.
It has been confirmed that the four quarter-final ties will be played on either Wednesday 13 January or Thursday 14 January 2021.
The Football Association announced yesterday that this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup final will take place on Sunday 14 March 2021. A venue for the final will be confirmed early in the New Year.
