Welcome to another weekly update from the Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club.
It has been a tough week on the pitch here at Manchester City. We stand at 1-1 with Atletico Madrid after last week’s first leg. It was a great game and there is all to play for in the second leg. We have a lot of members heading out to Spain for that one.
It was great to welcome Toni Duggan back to City for the game and she acknowledged the support both on the pitch and on her social media. Sending our love, wishes and thanks to Toni and we can’t wait to see her in action in the second leg.
On Sunday, we made the short trip to Leigh for a FA Women’s Continental League Cup derby. We took a full coach of our members to the Leigh Sports Village, free transport which we put on for them. Obviously, the result was not one we want to dwell on but I think that Manchester United played well and were worthy winners on the day.
We were all devastated to hear of Aoife Mannion’s serious injury in the Atletico Madrid game and as we wanted her to know we are right behind her, we all signed a card for her on Sunday which we hope helps to pick her up a bit.
One young OSC member Anastasia has cemented herself as Ellie Roebuck’s biggest fan this season. She shouts for City and Ellie at every game and last week met her hero and had a great few pictures taken with her.
This Sunday sees us travel to Arsenal to face the champions at Boreham Wood. Again, the OSC have subsidised a coach for our members and we will be there as usual #LoudProudLoyal!
