The second Merseyside derby of the season is expected to attract another huge crowd with Everton having now opened up a third stand for ticket sales.
Everton and Liverpool met in the reverse fixture at Anfield back in November with a crowd of 23,500 having been recorded for the match.
Ahead of Sunday’s derby at Goodison Park, Everton have confirmed that they have opened their Main Stand for ticket sales due to the high demand for tickets. The Blue Girls have already been selling tickets for their family enclosure, which has already sold out, the Lower Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End and the Sir Philip Carter Park Stand. Availability in those two stands are now limited which has resulted in the opening of the Main Stand.
Everton won the first Merseyside derby of the season 1-0 with Lucy Graham netting the game’s only goal in first half stoppage time following a horrific error from home keeper Anke Preuss.
Local rivals Liverpool will arrive at Goodison Park on the back of consecutive victories in both the FA Women’s Super League and Women’s FA Cup. The Reds have won just one league fixture since they defeated Everton 3-1 at Prenton Park on the final day of last season.
