London Bees’ home fixture against Durham postponed

London Bees’ FA Women’s Championship fixture against Durham at The Hive on Sunday has been postponed.

The playing surface at The Hive has come in for some criticism in recent weeks and The Bees have opted to call off their home fixture against Durham with the pitch currently heavy and with more bad weather forecast during the next 48 hours.

London Bees announced the postponement on their official club website this afternoon ahead of opponents Durham’s scheduled departure for the capital.

London Bees have not played a match since they were defeated 1-0 at Everton in their Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie back in late January. With their next fixture not scheduled to take place until 22 March, it could be almost two months since London Bees last took to the field by the time that they play their next match.

Durham are also not scheduled to return to action until 22 March when they host Sheffield United in the FA Women’s Championship. The Wildcats have seen their last two league fixtures cancelled due to the poor weather conditions.

Tickets for the postponed fixture against Durham can be used for the rearranged match or alternatively, fans can contact the club to claim a refund.
