Manchester City forward Pauline Bremer will leave The Academy Stadium at the end of the season and will join German Bundesliga Frauen side VfL Wolfsburg according to reports by BBC Sport.
The 23-year-old Ossenfeld-born forward has been in exceptional goalscoring form for Manchester City this season, netting 10 goals in the FA Women’s Super League.
It has now been revealed that this season will be Bremer’s last as a Manchester City player with the striker opting to sign a pre-contract agreement with VfL Wolfsburg. Bremer will officially join the German club in the summer in a move which will see the player return to the league where she started her professional career eight years ago.
Bremer came through the youth ranks at 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam before going on to make almost a half-century of appearances for the Turbines at senior level over the course of three years. In 2015, the forward signed a two-year deal with European heavyweights Lyon where she went on to win two trebles which included back-to-back Division 1 Feminine and UEFA Women’s Champions League titles.
In 2017, Bremer joined Manchester City and while her early days in the North West were injury-plagued, the striker has returned to her very best this season, terrifying opposition defences.
Bremer will return to Germany as a free agent with the player’s contract with Manchester City set to expire on 30 June 2020.
