WEEKLY UPDATE: Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club #46

Welcome to this week’s Manchester City Women Official Supporters’ Club update and we hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

Obviously this week has seen both the game in general and us as fans face unprecedented challenges with the measures put in place to combat the COVID-19 situation. The Football Association took the step to suspend all FA Women’s Super League football last Friday until at least the weekend of 4 and 5 April. In reality, we may find that the actual time until we see football resumed will be much longer.

As a supporters group, we are very sad to see that this has happened but obviously we fully back the decision as people’s health and safety must be the prime concern when we are in trouble times like this.

We had been all set for a trip to Leicester City on Sunday for a Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie but we had to postpone all the travel arrangements and we have refunded everyone who was booked on our coach. Another casualty this week has been our OSC Roadshow event which was scheduled to take place at The City Football Academy on Thursday evening. After consultation with the club, we today officially postponed the event.

We hope to reschedule the OSC Roadshow in the future when circumstances deem it possible to do so. All sad news of course, but understandable and necessary at the moment.

I’m sure you will agree that ourselves and many others supporters’ groups and associations including FA Women’s Super League Full-Time, have created a strong online social media community in recent years. This special community can now play it’s part in keeping fans informed and even involved more than ever before. We are here for all our members, followers and other fans who need a chat over this crisis. Contact us on our Twitter page or Instagram feed @MCWFC_OSC or E-mail us at

As for any important developments, we will of course post these online as and when they are necessary. Most importantly, stay safe and look after each other .

We will be back again soon with another update.
