Crystal Palace have announced that Lucy Gillett, Hannah MacKenzie and Magda Mosengo have left the club according to reports on The Eagles’ official website.
The trio join Northern Ireland international Freya Holdaway in leaving Hayes Lane this summer with the defender’s departure having been confirmed earlier this week.
Goalkeeper Gillett joined Palace last summer following a successful loan spell with the South Londoners during her time on the books of Brighton & Hove Albion. The player has made an important contribution for The Eagles throughout the campaign.
Experienced defender MacKenzie has spent the last two years with Palace after enjoying spells with Chelsea, Reading and Tottenham Hotspur. She has been one of the most used players this season by manager Dean Davenport.
Striker Mosengo joined The Eagles last summer and the player has had the third-best goals-to-games ratio for Palace in the FA Women’s Championship, a statistic that can only be bettered by Ashleigh Goddard and Amber-Keegan Stobbs.
This week’s four departures at Hayes Lane means that Palace boss Davenport will almost certainly been seriously strengthening his squad this summer. The Eagles flirted with the bottom of the table again in 2019/2020 and they will be keen to become tougher opponents next season in what will be their third year in the second tier.
