Everton boss Willie Kirk has completed his second addition in as many days with the capture of former Bristol City left-back Poppy Pattinson according to reports on The Blue Girls’ official website.
The 20-year-old Durham-born defender has agreed to join Kirk’s side after rejecting the offer of a new contract with former club Bristol City.
Pattinson is regarded as one of the most promising young left-backs in the country with the youngster have represented England on the international stage at various age groups up to and including Under-21 level.
The length of the contract which Pattinson has signed at Walton Hall Park has been left undisclosed by Everton, although the club have revealed that the player will wear the number 30 squad number throughout the coming season.
After spending much of her youth with local clubs Sunderland and Middlesbrough, Pattinson began her senior career with the former in 2017. She made a couple of appearances for The Black Cats before being snapped up by then-Manchester City boss Nick Cushing.
Pattinson struggled for senior game time during her time at The Academy Stadium but she impressed in the club’s Development Squad. The youngster moved to Bristol City in 2018 in search of first team playing experience and she was a consistent performer for The Robins.
She will now be aiming to kick-on at new club Everton while the move may give her senior England hopes a real boost.
