Young Blackburn Rovers midfielder Natasha Fenton has signed her first professional terms with the club according to reports on Rovers’ official website.
The 21-year-old has been on the books of the Lancashire club for the last eight years, graduating through the Rovers’ youth set up to go on and star for the first team.
It has today been announced that Fenton has agreed a new contract with Rovers which will initially keep her at the club until next summer.
Fenton was one of just three players to appear in every FA Women’s Championship game for Blackburn Rovers last season, defenders Kayleigh McDonald and Ellie Stewart being the others. The youngster has made more appearances for Rovers than any other player in the squad while next season should see her reach the 150-appearance mark for the club.
The midfielder becomes the third Blackburn Rovers player to extend their contract at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium in as many days. Fenton joins Saffron Jordan and Stewart in committing to the club for the coming season.
Blackburn Rovers boss Gemma Donnelly will be hoping to see further progress from her side in the coming season. Rovers made a real stuttering start to life in the FA Women’s Championship following their promotion in 2019 but they recovered well to eventually finish the campaign in seventh position.
