Manchester City forward Lee Geum-min has joined the club’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan deal according to reports on The Seagulls’ official website.
The 26-year-old attacker joined Manchester City last summer but managed just three starts in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League as she was so often left warming the bench.
With regular first team football at The Academy Stadium far from guaranteed for the South Korean international again in 2020/2021, the player has today agreed to move to Brighton & Hove Albion on a loan arrangement which will last for the entire season.
Lee started her senior career in her native South Korea with Seoul before spending time at Gyeongju Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power WFC. After representing her country at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019, Lee moved to England where she signed for Manchester City. After struggling to make an impact for City, the forward will now be hoping to show the Barclays FA Women’s Super League just what she can do during her time with Brighton & Hove Albion.
While Lee’s move is currently a loan, there is a chance that the player could join Brighton & Hove Albion on a permanent basis next summer should she settle at The People’s Pension Stadium. She will officially become a free agent at parent club Manchester City next summer unless they offer her a new deal.
