Chelsea midfielder Guro Reiten has signed a new three-year deal with the club according to reports on The Blues’ official website.
The 26-year-old Norwegian international ace has enjoyed a successful first year with Chelsea after joining the South West Londoners last summer following a spell with LSK Kvinner.
Reiten started all 15 of Chelsea’s matches in the 2019/2020 Barclays FA Women’s Super League while she scored five goals, including a goal in The Blues’ exceptional 4-1 victory at former champions Arsenal in January. Of the 25 matches played by Emma Hayes’ side in all competitions, Reiten missed just two of those games.
The player ended the 2019/2020 campaign with winners’ medals from both the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.
Last season saw Reiten play her football outside of her native Norway for the very first time. The player has seemingly taken to life in England very well and she will remain in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League until at least 2023.
The midfielder started her career with Sunndal before joining Kattern. A move to Trondheims-Orn followed before Reiten really made her mark with LSK Kvinner. Prior to joining Chelsea, she had won three consecutive Norwegian Toppserien titles and she has backed up that record with a fourth major European league title on the bounce.
