Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro is likely to have club captain Kim Little available for selection when The Gunners resume their 2019/2020 UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign next weekend.
The North Londoners take on Paris Saint-Germain in their long-awaited quarter-final tie in San Sebastian on Saturday evening. Should Arsenal be successful, they will face a one-off semi-final and a potential final in a short period of time.
The Gunners had some back luck with injuries last season as the Barclays FA Women’s Super League title slipped away from them. The club will be hoping for better luck on the injury front when they return to competitive action in Spain.
Club captain Little has not played for Arsenal since sustaining a foot injury in February but the player has told the club’s official media sources that she is now back in full training and ready to play her part for The Gunners. It is understood that the Scottish international has played a part in recent behind-closed-doors friendlies with Aston Villa and Charlton Athletic and Little is now looking forward to her competitive return.
The winners of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain’s quarter-final tie will face either European champions Lyon or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals on Wednesday 26 August.
