Aston Villa promotion winner Daniela Kosinska kept a clean sheet as she made her debut for latest club Stoke City this afternoon.
The Potterettes defeated a 10-player Sheffield FC outfit 1-0 at Community Drive as they got their 2020/2021 FA Women’s National League North campaign off to a winning start.
Abby Hunt netted the only goal of the game for Stoke City just before the hour mark while the visitors had a player dismissed with 15 minutes to go.
Goalkeeper Kosinska joined Stoke City on a free transfer in midweek following her release by Barclays FA Women’s Super League club Aston Villa earlier this summer. The 19-year-old was a member of the Villa squad which won the FA Women’s Championship on a points-per-game basis last season following the early curtailment of the campaign due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Kosinska made just one appearance for Villa in the FA Women’s Championship and was deemed surplus to requirements at The Banks’s Stadium with manager Gemma Davies strengthening her squad in a bid to remain in the top flight for more than one season.
Kosinska has joined a Stoke City side who enjoyed a solid campaign in the FA Women’s National League North last season and will be sure to be looking to kick on this year.
