West Ham United forward’s move to Napoli is a permanent deal

West Ham United forward Jacynta Galabadaarachchi’s move to Italian club Napoli is thought to be on a permanent basis.

The Turtles confirmed the move on their official club website on Friday but did not confirm any terms of the deal. It was thought that Galabadaarachchi had joined Napoli on a loan arrangement.

West Ham United have today confirmed the move on their own official club website and have wished the player well for her future career, indicating that Galabadaarachchi has moved to the Caduti di Brema on a permanent basis, bringing an end to her 14-month stay in East London.

Napoli start the new season with a Coppa Italian Women fixture at Citta di Pontedera next weekend and Galabadaarachchi will have her sights set upon making her debut. The club failed to qualify from the group stage last season but did have better luck in the league, winning the Serie B Femminile title.

During her time as a West Ham United player, Galabadaarachchi made 11 appearances for the club in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with five of those outings being starts. The forward joined the club following a spell with Australian club Perth Glory. Galabadaarachchi trained with several English clubs prior to becoming professional at the age of 18.
