Former London City Lionesses and West Ham United midfielder Charlotte Gurr has re-signed for former club Charlton Athletic according to reports on The Addicks’ official website.
The 31-year-old hasn’t played a competitive fixture for more than a year due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but she is now raring to go once again.
It has this afternoon been confirmed that Gurr has signed for former club Charlton Athletic. The player previously spent two successful years with The Addicks between 2017 and 2019.
After completing her move to The Oakwood, Gurr told Charlton Athletic’s official media channels “I’m so excited to be back at Charlton, it’s a great club with great people involved. The last year has been really tough personally for me recovering from an ACL and I just can’t wait to get back playing again.
“It was Charlton who helped me through the final stages of my rehab. With their support, belief and encouragement I am back fit, strong and ready to play again.
“I am so grateful for all they have done and I just want to get out on the pitch and repay the belief shown in me.”
Gurr links up with a Charlton Athletic side who are showing signs of improvement this season. Riteesh Mishra’s side were winless in 2019/2020 but they have picked up four points from three games already so far this term.
The Addicks take on Coventry United in their next match at The Oakwood on Sunday afternoon.
