Arsenal provide positive news with list of absentees set to shrink

Arsenal have today provided an update via their official website on the current injury situation at the club, with the number of absentees seemingly on the decline.

The Gunners’ bad luck from last season with injuries has continued into the new campaign but there does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel as they prepare for an FA Women’s Continental League Cup group fixture against the London City Lionesses tomorrow night and a trip to Manchester United in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League at the weekend.

Arsenal have revealed that Kim Little, Jill Roord, Fran Stenson and Leonie Maier have all returned to full training following their recent injuries. It is unlikely that those players will be risked against London City Lionesses at Princes Park but they could be in the frame to feature against Manchester United at the weekend.

Jordan Nobbs, Lisa Evans, Steph Catley and Noelle Maritz are also recovering well and have began running again, although the quartet are a bit further away from a first team return than teammates Little, Roord, Stenson and Maier.

Arsenal will be hoping to continue their impressive goalscoring form of late when they travel to Princes Park to face London City Lionesses tomorrow night. The Gunners have netted 11 goals in their last two matches in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and 35 goals in all competitions so far this season.
