Everton will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League when they take on Reading at Walton Hall Park this afternoon.
The Blue Girls have taken just a point from their last two top flight matches, Willie Kirk’s side had started the season with four straight wins.
Everton go into the match just days after learning that in-form forward Valerie Gauvin will be sidelined for up to two months with a muscle injury. Manager Willie Kirk will be hoping that his other attacking players will plug the gap left by the French international’s absence. Danish international Nicoline Sorensen was tasked with finding the goals at Chelsea last weekend, although The Blue Girls went down 4-0 at Kingsmeadow.
Reading arrive on Merseyside in search of a first Barclays FA Women’s Super League victory since early October. The Royals have collected two points from an available nine courtesy of respectable 1-1 draws against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Manager Kelly Chambers could opt to make changes to the Reading side which drew with Spurs at The Hive last weekend. The Royals boss has been critical of her side’s finishing of late and could offer starts to the likes of Jeon Ga-Eul or Lauren Bruton.
Everton’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Reading kicks-off at 4.30pm and will be available to watch live on the BBC Red Button and on the FA Player.
