Charlton Athletic’s FA Women’s Championship fixture against London City Lionesses which was scheduled to take place at The Oakwood this afternoon has been postponed.
The match was called off less than two hours before kick-off with the playing surface at The Oakwood waterlogged following a period of heavy rain.
The Addicks announced the postponement via their official club Twitter account earlier this afternoon. A new date for the match is set to be announced in due course.

This afternoon’s fixture against the London City Lionesses is Charlton Athletic’s second at The Oakwood to be postponed this season due to a waterlogged pitch. Last month’s FA Women’s Championship clash with Sheffield United was also washed out.
Riteesh Mishra’s side are scheduled to next be in action on Wednesday evening when West Ham United are the visitors to The Oakwood in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup. The Addicks also have their rescheduled FA Women’s Championship fixture against Sheffield United to play next Sunday.
The South East Londoners ended a four-match losing streak in all competitions with a spirited 1-1 draw at promotion-chasing Durham last weekend. Charlton Athletic were so close to collecting a shock victory until the hosts levelled matters at the death.
