PREVIEW: Coventry United v Blackburn Rovers

Coventry United will be looking to end a four-match losing streak in all competitions when they take on in-form Blackburn Rovers at the Butts Park Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Jay Bradford’s side have conceded 25 goals in their last four matches, although the club have had to contend with a COVID-19 outbreak, an ever-increasing injury list and they have faced some pretty stiff opposition.

Coventry United are set to go into Sunday’s fixture against Blackburn Rovers without injured trio Helen Dermody, Maz Gauntlett and Shannon O’Brien. Manager Bradford could offer a debut to midfielder Fran Orthodoxou who joined the club from West Bromwich Albion on Friday.

Blackburn Rovers arrive in Warwickshire unbeaten in three FA Women’s Championship matches. Gemma Donnelly’s side have not conceded a goal in 350 minutes of second tier football. The Lancashire club are not thought to have any fresh injury concerns ahead of the weekend. Forward Ria Montgomery was a notable absentee from the Rovers squad which took on Liverpool last weekend. She had previously been nursing a foot injury but temporarily returned for the London Bees fixture a fortnight ago.

Coventry United’s FA Women’s Championship fixture against Blackburn Rovers kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. The game will be available for fans to stream live on CUTV, the hosts’ official YouTube channel.
