Manchester City midfielder Tyler Toland netted her second goal for loan club Glasgow City in their 5-0 victory over Hearts at Broadwood Stadium this afternoon.
The 19-year-old Republic of Ireland international midfielder joined Glasgow City on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City ahead of the new Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) season and she has been an important member of Scott Booth’s side in recent weeks.
Toland netted her first goal for Glasgow City in their recent 3-0 win at Motherwell and she followed up her maiden strike north of the border with another goal against Hearts this afternoon.
Rachel McLaughlan’s early goal gave Glasgow City a slender first half lead before substitute Aoife Colvill doubled the hosts’ advantage shortly after the break.
Manchester City midfielder Toland netted Glasgow City’s third goal with a composed strike from the edge of the area before Nicole Robertson and Mairead Fulton added further goals as the game moved towards its conclusion.
Midfielder Toland played the full 90 minutes for Booth’s side as they remained on top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) table with five wins out of five so far this season.
The youngster struggled for minutes for parent club Manchester City last season but a successful spell with Glasgow City this term could really bolster her chances of a greater involvement at The Academy Stadium upon her return next summer.
