PREVIEW: Brighton & Hove Albion v Chelsea

Brighton & Hove Albion will be hoping to again avoid defeat to an elite side when they host Barclays FA Women’s Super League champions Chelsea at The People’s Pension Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The Seagulls have already held Manchester City and Everton in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season and Hope Powell’s side will now be aiming to follow the example which they set last season in collecting a point from Chelsea on home turf.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Powell is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with as her side prepare to face The Blues. Ellie Brazil returned from injury at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and her manager has confirmed that there will be no restriction placed upon the number of minutes which the forward can play against Chelsea.

Chelsea boss Emma Hayes has a fully fit squad available to her for the trip to Crawley. Long-term absentees Drew Spence and Hannah Blundell returned to the matchday squad for the South West Londoners’ UEFA Women’s Champions League round of 32 first leg tie against Benfica in midweek. Forward Sam Kerr could be recalled to the starting XI at The People’s Pension Stadium after dropping down to the bench in Portugal.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea at The People’s Pension Stadium kicks-off at 2pm tomorrow afternoon and will be available to stream live on the FA Player. Home fans have until midday to purchase their tickets should they wish to attend the match.
