Everton forward Valerie Gauvin is on the comeback trail with the player having today provided a positive message via her personal Twitter account.
The 24-year-old joined The Blue Girls in the summer and played a starring role in the club’s blistering start to the 2020/2021 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season.
Gauvin netted Everton’s goal in their 3-1 extra-time defeat to Manchester City in the 2019/2020 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley in November but the player has not been seen since after coming off the turf at the national stadium battered and bruised. The French international has missed the last two-and-a-half months of action with a muscle injury and it can be argued that her absence has played a part in Everton’s recent stuttering form.
Prior to Everton’s postponed fixture against Manchester United at the weekend, manager Willie Kirk confirmed that Gauvin had returned to the training pitch. The player has now also posted an update on her personal Twitter account confirming that she is back on the training pitch and doing her very best to return to fitness, news that will be music to the ears of Everton fans. Gauvin was clearly delighted to be back with her picture very much speaking a thousand words.
Ça fait du bien d’être de retour sur les terrains. Je continue de travailler dur pour revenir en forme ! 💪🏽🔵

Sunday’s postponement was forced due to COVID-19 infections and Everton’s lengthy injury list. While Gauvin is not thought to be ready for her first team return just yet, the player seems very positive upon her return to training and will be keen to pick up from where she left off prior to her injury in November.
