Sheffield United will take on Coventry United at St George’s Park on Sunday afternoon rather than at their usual home of The Technique Stadium according to reports on The Blades’ official website.
Neil Redfearn’s side will be looking to return to winning ways in the FA Women’s Championship after starting 2021 with a 2-1 defeat at league leaders Leicester City last weekend.
It is thought that Sheffield United’s decision may be due to the seasonal weather to hit the United Kingdom in recent days. The North of England has seen heavy snowfall therefore the move to St George’s Park may give Sunday’s game a better chance of going ahead.
Sheffield United currently find themselves in fourth position in the FA Women’s Championship table, however, their promotion hopes look to be over for another year with last weekend’s defeat at Farley Way leaving them 10 points adrift of the summit with just eight games left to play. This weekend sees Redfearn’s side come up against a Coventry United outfit which is beginning to blossom under the club’s new ownership structure and with The Red and Greens having attracted fresh investment.
Sunday’s fixture in Burton upon Trent will kick-off at the usual time of 2pm.
