Leicester City forward Littlejohn confirms departure

Leicester City forward Ruesha Littlejohn has confirmed that she is leaving the club after spending the first half of the season at Farley Way.

The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international forward was one of a whole host of players to join The Foxes last summer but her time with the FA Women’s Championship club has seemingly come to an end.

Littlejohn took to Twitter earlier this afternoon to confirm her Leicester City departure and the player has wished the club well for the future.

During her time at Leicester City, Littlejohn has made six appearances for the club in the FA Women’s Championship, although just one of those outings came from the start. She netted her only goal as The Foxes won 9-1 at Coventry United in November. The player was most recently in manager Jonathan Morgan’s squad in midweek when Leicester City won 1-0 at Crystal Palace in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-finals.

Littlejohn has had a nomadic career to date, playing most of her football for a number of clubs both in England and Scotland. The player has had three separate spells with both Celtic and Glasgow City while south of the border, Littlejohn has turned out for Arsenal, Liverpool, London Bees, West Ham United and Leicester City.

With the transfer window still open, Leicester City boss Morgan could yet add another attacking option to his squad ahead of the end of season run-in.
