FA Women’s Championship club Lewes have confirmed that midfielder Emily Donovan has left the club.
The former Barclays FA Women’s Super League player joined The Rookettes ahead of the 2019/2020 campaign but her stay at The Dripping Pan has come to an end after almost 18 months playing in red and white.
Lewes announced Donovan’s departure in a post on the club’s official Twitter account this afternoon.

Donovan joined Lewes following a one-season spell playing in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League with former top flight side Yeovil Town. The player can also count Oxford United amongst her former clubs.
During her time with Lewes, Donovan has represented The Rookettes on 23 occasions in the FA Women’s Championship. She scored her only league goal for the club in a 5-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at The Dripping Pan on the opening day of the 2019/2020 season. The midfielder’s final appearance in a Lewes shirt came as Simon Parker’s side were defeated 2-0 by Sheffield United at The Dripping Pan on Sunday.
Lewes boss Parker has not added any new players to his squad so far on Transfer Deadline Day with time ticking towards the closure of the window.
