Arsenal and England youth international duo join Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Dean Davenport has completed the double signing of young Arsenal duo Grace Garrad and Grace Pearse according to reports on The Eagles’ official club website.

The teenagers have been members of Arsenal’s WSL Academy side while both players have represented the Lionesses at various youth levels.

Midfielder Garrad is yet to make her senior debut for The Gunners but she has been named as an unused substitute for Joe Montemurro’s side on four occasions this season while teammate Pearse, who plays as a defender, has had similar involvement at senior level.

Garrad and Pearse join a Palace side who are currently winless in their last three matches in all competitions. The Eagles will be looking to return to winning ways when they make the long trip north to Blackburn Rovers this weekend with both of the club’s latest signings potentially in-line to make their debuts. Palace lost the reverse fixture 3-2 at Hayes Lane back in September but Davenport’s side felt that they were unfortunate to lose that match following some controversial decisions made by the officials.

Palace currently occupy eighth place in the FA Women’s Championship table after taking 12 points from their 12 league matches so far this season.
