Manchester United ace Galton signs new three-and-a-half-year deal

Manchester United winger Leah Galton has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the club according to reports on The Red Devils’ official website.

The 26-year-old Harrogate-born attacking player has starred for United in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League and has been without doubt one of their most consistent performers since their promotion to the top flight in 2019.

With Galton being one of the most important pieces of the United jigsaw, it has today been confirmed that the player has agreed to remain with the club until summer 2024. United also have the option to take up an addition year on the player’s contract should they wish to do so.

Galton has netted six goals in 13 Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures for United so far this season while she has contributed two assists. Only forward Ella Toone has netted as many league goals for the club as Galton so far this season. It should be noted that all of Galton’s goals have come from open play while one of Toone’s strikes came from the penalty spot.

The winger started her senior career with Leeds United before spending over a year in the United States with Sky Blue FC. Galton then moved to Bayern Munich where she spent six months before joining Manchester United.

Galton was a member of the first senior United side following their reformation in 2018.
