Lewes welcome London City Lionesses to The Dripping Pan this weekend as the two clubs contest their latest fixture in the FA Women’s Championship.
London City Lionesses sit just one point and one place above their hosts in the FA Women’s Championship table, although they have played a game more than Simon Parker’s side
Lewes were 1-0 winners in the reverse fixture at Princes Park back in early October, thanks to a first half penalty from midfielder Ellie Leek. The threat of London City Lionesses this weekend cannot be underestimated with Melissa Phillips’ side having since enjoyed an excellent run of form while they won 1-0 at Charlton Athletic in their last away fixture a little over a fortnight ago.
A familiar face will be returning to the The Dripping Pan this weekend with former Lewes goalkeeper Nina Wilson likely to be named in the London City Lionesses squad. The Lionesses’ new number 44 joined the club during the January transfer window to provide competition to first choice goalkeeper Shae Yanez.
Lewes will be broadcasting the fixture live on their official club website with fans encouraged to make a donation for the privilege. The online stream can be accessed by clicking here.
