Manchester United midfielder Hayley Ladd has signed a two-year contract extension with the club according to reports on The Red Devils’ official club website.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been a consistent performer for Casey Stoney’s side since joining the club in summer 2019. Manchester United have today moved to retain the player’s services until summer 2023 while they also hold the option to extend the arrangement by a further year.
Ladd has appeared in all 15 of Manchester United’s fixtures in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season while 12 of those outings have come as starts. The midfielder netted her only goal in the 2-1 victory over Reading at The Madejski Stadium in December. Ladd has also featured in all three of her club’s fixtures in this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup.
In her first season at The Leigh Sports Village, Ladd was crowned Manchester United’s Player of the Year while she has carried her good form into the current season. The midfielder has specialised in tough-tackling and breaking up opponents’ attacks. United have the joint-fourth best defensive record in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season.
Ladd will be looking to make her 16th Barclays FA Women’s Super League appearance of the season on Sunday 7 March when Manchester United return to action against Aston Villa at The Leigh Sports Village.
